South Indian actor Raja Krishnamooorthy plays father to the five leading ladies – Sriti Jha, Sayantani Ghosh, Gungun Uprari, Bhargavi Chirmule, and Sonali Nikam. Dhruv Bhandari, Sachin Shroff, Manish Raisinghania, Nihar Thakkar and Mazher Syed play their respective husbands.

Sadanand Savratkar (Krishnamoorthy) introduced all his five daughters and their husbands beginning with the eldest Savita (Bhargavi) and Jayesh (Nihar Thakkar) to the youngest and visually impaired Sandhya (Sriti).

Though married to Yuvraaaj (Dhruv Bhandari), Sandhya will have a secret admirer in actor Naman Shaw. The latter was neither present nor was anything disclosed about his character.

There was hardly any Q & A session held, as neither the scribes nor the actors/officials appeared to be interested in it. UTV COO Santosh Nair too, didn’t have much to say about his show except that ‘Rakt Sambandh’ was different from other contemporary shows. Writer-creative director Prashant Jadhav was asked to speak a few words but he quickly retorted, “I’m not a good speaker. My job is to write.”

The only light hearted moment was provided by Krishnamoorthy, who jokingly said that one of his reasons for choosing the show was the presence of five beautiful ladies around him, though he was disappointed that he had to play their father. Sonali Nikam, who plays Shraddha, was noticed limping. It was later learnt that she had hurt her toe while stepping into her vanity van.

‘Rakt Sambandh’ looks like another multi cast show that may not be able to do justice to all its characters. The last time Imagine had a similar show on air was ‘Basera,’ which didn’t turn out to be a happy affair. However, it’s best not to judge a book by its cover. One never knows, people might be able to relate to ‘Rakt Sambandh’.
