Global Indian Music Awards 2010 (GIMA) is the first award function organized in India totally dedicated to music industry, which had its inaugural edition yesterday on November 10. It was a huge reunion of lots of legendary singers, musicians, lyricists and definitely the Bollywood stars.
Bollywood’s singing legend Lata Mangeshkar was presented with the lifetime achievement award at the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) By her sister Asha Bhosle.
Among all the shining stars, Dabangg star Salman Khan was one of the biggest attractions, who performed from his blockbuster film and thousands cheered for him.
This GIMA award 2010 ceremony is an attempt to appreciate the works of people both from the flim and the non film background. The song Iktara from the film “Wake up Sid” also got 3 awards for best singer and other category. Lata Mangeshkar was facilitated with the best devotional trophy and this was one of the main high points of the award. She commented “I’m very grateful to people for giving me this award. This is my first non-film award ever. I never got an award in this category earlier, so this is truly special.”
