MTV Roadies 6.0 [HELL DOWN UNDER] is under some trouble and guess what – problems in the Delhi Auditions. MTV Roadies 6.0 has been talk of the youth ever since MTV Roadies 5.0 gained huge popularity with the fact that the reality show went international for the first time. Keeping the same spirit and game plan, MTV Roadies 6.0 promised higher extremes in Australia and that’s how the tag line “Hell down under“.
What went wrong at Delhi Auditions?
Then it was in Delhi on 3rd October. It was held @ National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI Auditorium), Hauz Khas. About 5,000 people had gathered on THE day from 7AM, even before the gates for the registration were opened. Such is the craziness for this show in today’s youth..
Group discussions started at 9AM. Suddenly a group of young men entered the main foyer area and started vandalizing the premises by smashing windowpanes and turning chairs upside down. They also tried to damage a motorbike in the display area besides burning posters of the show.
Vaibhav Vishal, associate vice president of Shows, MTV India, told “People started jumping across the wall, and there was a stampede. Suddenly in the foyer area, there were some 150 odd people who started acting funny and breaking things up,”
The organizers called the police after they failed to control the mob and bring the situation under control. The police resorted to a mild baton charge. During the baton charge over 10 people were injured in the clash with the police.
Finally to safeguard everyone, Ashish Patil, senior vice president and general manager MTV India decided to cancel the Delhi Auditions.
After the Delhi spat, the auditions were held in Mumbai on 12th October without any issues.
Every year minimum 2 – 3 roadies get selected from Delhi. This year what is the fate of the aspiring roadies from Delhi? Only time can tell.
The alternate dates for the Delhi auditions is not yet announced. After this havoc, roadies will gain some more TRP’s and people will feel show more interest towards this show. Indeed Roadies is getting hotter & hotter year after year… MTV roadies 6.0 is indeed a worth show watching!!!
