If you thought that you had an overdose of celebrity based dance show then Hold. There is one more coming up your way and this time involving stars from Indian Cricket team to participate in a dance-based reality show with beauties from tinsel town on Colors Entertainment Channel titled as “Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena”. What is entertaining though is the fact that all these cricketers who use to dance after winning a match or taking a wicket, will have to dance first and then the winners will be decided. The show will go live from 24th September on Colors TV.
“Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena” will be hosted by Sandhya Mridul finalist of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2 and will feature some of the known faces from Indian Cricket Team. As per reports, the Khiladi and Haseena pair will comprise of:
Stars from Cricket and Entertainment World have always gone side by side with artists from both the field have participated in each other’s show. Also many bollywood actress have fallen for cricketing star including Sharmila Tagore, Reena Roy, Sangeeta Bijlani, Nagma (though it didnt work out) and Kim Sharma (or Yuvi is looking for someone else now?). Further, there were shows like “Chak De” India involving Shahrukh Khan with the cricketing stars. However, this is the first time there will be a reality shows involving cricket and Telly stars working together. Will be fun to watch and will also be a good break from same boring dance shows.
Colors Entertainment channel, a 50:50 joint venture of Viacom and TV 18, was launched few months back (July 2008) and has already picked up major shows starting with “Khatron Ke Khiladi” hosted by Akshay Kumar, Bigg Boss 2 hosted by Shilpa Shetty and now “Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena” hosted by Sandhya Mridul. Apart from the reality shows there are some good daily soaps as well in form of Balika Vadhu, Jai Sri Krishna, Mohe Range De (by Deepti Bhatnagar – Pre-independence love story), Bandhan Saat Janamon Ka and of course Chat Show Sajid’s Superstar. Looks like Colors channel have all the right blends of colors for all types of audience. Good going Colors, you have given the Indian audience a much needed break from Saas Bahu Soaps and too many singing based competition shows.
