Veteran Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the judge of Zee’s Ek Se Badhkar Ek who took a stand that he will not judge Mussarat Abbas, one of the probable wild card entry contestant, just because he is from Pakistan, will continue to judge the show. However, Ravi Kishen, noted Bhojpuri actor is out of the show and is replaced by Mandira Bedi, who recently gathered many accolades for hosting the show Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar.

It’s said that Zee Team and Abhijeet has sorted out the issue amicably. It’s not the first time Abhijeet has made some remarks about Pakistani Singers/Contestants. He did not leave the noted Sufi Singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, for whom he commented that the death of Nusrat should not affect any one from India. Then came his comments on Sa Re Ga Ma Lil Champs, where Sameer, one of the singers, sang Atif Aslam’s song (from the movie Kalyug). Again, during Ek Se Badhkar Ek, he almost got mad when Aneek Dhar (Winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2007) sang yet another Atif Aslam’s hit “Pehli Nazar” from the movie Race. While many claims he is a racist and he should be thrown out of the show, there are some logics for him being a Anti-Pakistani. We should also not forget what happened last years during Independence Day episode on Sa re ga ma, when Pakistan singers refused to sing Indian Patriotic Songs, which was stupid. Many including top politician like Laloo Prasad Yadav has said that through this show “India Pakistan” ties will strengthen, but there seems to be no end to constant violations by the neighbors on line of control. Plus a recent attack on Indian Embassy has all reasons to doubt ISI (Pakistan Secret Agency). Fake currency distribution by Pakistan has caused enough damage to the Indian Economy. So my question goes – Why can’t these singers and other artists pressurize their Government to bring a stop to this hatred. It’s an open truth that Pakistan is wagging a proxy war with India since 1970s and we have paid heavy price in the form of militancy in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, North East and now in form of terror attacks across India. I know stopping these signers will not help much, but how about these singers and artists taking some steps to stop this?

Anyways, I guess I went off the topic. Again, I do not promote racism or think ban on any artist can bring peace, my heart went for many innocent who die everyday because of inabilities of Pakistan to stop promoting terrorism in form of jihad. All is well between the Zee Team and Abhijeet and he will continue to host the show.

But what went wrong between Ravi Kishen and Zee? Well, no one is commenting directly whether it was a mutual decision or there were some problems, however people are commenting on the fact that Ravi Kishen lost his cool during one of the judgment. Ravi saheb, being a host you should be cooling the matter not warming it up. Whatever the case, Kishen’s exit meant Mandira’s entry and she is doing pretty well ever since she did Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander show on Star TV or should I say ever since she has been doing shows on cricket matches. All the best Mandira, we will see how it goes with you, the show and Abhijeet.
