The winner of the first season of Indian Idol was Abhijeet Sawant. Abhijeet Sawant participated in Asian Idol, representing India, and placed third. He also released his second album Junoon which was a success and he also did play back for the movie, Ashiq Banaya Apne. Abhijeet Sawant did some commercials for Spraymint.

The winner of the Second Season of Indian Idol was Sandeep Acharya. Sandeep Acharya beat judges favorite, 19-year old N. C. Karunya in a glitzy function in Mumbai. Along with the title of Indian Idol, Acharya walked away with Rs.1 crore contract from Sony BMG, a music album contract and a brand new Maruti Baleno car.

The winner of the Third season was Prashant Tamang. Prashant Tamang (Nepali: ???????? ?????) is a Darjeeling-based Indian singer and winner of Indian Idol season 3. He is the first Gorkha contestant to make it to the final rounds of Indian Idol and win it.
He is also the first person from the Indian police force to enter the final rounds.He was a favorite to win the competition due to strong backing from the people of Nepalese origin and the Indian police force. Even as the results were yet to be announced on television, several news sources had reported Prashant’s winning the competition.

how discusting… how come possible shashi out from top 7 . who was really deserve for top 7, if janta doing all this things then why anu malik, sunidhi, and salim sitting over there, nobody know how many peoples do voting or not… if janta giving wrong suggestin then what is judges responsblity. if judges cant do any thing why they sitting over there. just for appreciating and encouraging. no. this is not job discription for judge. judges need to understand what is his job,,, all over india know very well that tia, naushad, swaroop , they cant stand even front of shashi suman, i m really really disappointed to see all this thing.. if judges cant undrstand his responsblity . no need to sit over there…. i need my answer.. coz i will protest .. its happening wrong… if this things keep continue.. no one belive in indian idol… every one good judgement….. i m waiting for answer…. aliraza.hhc@gmail.com
