Balika Badhu – deals with Child Marriages in India
6Aug2008 Filed under: Television Author: ripsBalika Badhu, a new serial that is aired on New Entertainment Channel Colors and doing quite well with the audience. It’s a good break from Saas Bahu Serials, rather break from EKTA brand serials where all seems so superficial. Though we have almost nil Child Marriages in the Major cities in India, it’s still practiced in major parts of India including Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Apart from the Child Marriage Issue, which is the epicenter of the Serial, it deals with other family issues, joint family disputes and other social problems of the society.
I would other producers to work on Serials that you more true to daily life. Showing serials with elaborated dressing and artificial background does not relate to common man. I would prefer to see a local Mumbai middle class life and their daily struggle with problems in MODERN India than to see Ms Tulsi and her family dramas.

i see balika badhu whenever i am at home.that is the only serial i watch…bcos its dealing with some very important social issue,,,but few days i am getting bored as only crying crying and that also with the same expressions on anandi and gehana faces,,,please we want entertainment also with this….

balika badhu mujhe bahut hi acha lagta hai.this serial is totally diffrnt 4m all others serial.witin few days its become so popular.i like gahna so much .her acting is so good & also looking very beautiful..her dressing is also too good.please keep ur wallpaper in the net so i can dwnld it
a beautiful serial which has portrayed the social problems of rural India with all its nuances – KEEPS THE AUDIENCE GLUED TO A REALISTIC SHOW THAN THE MISERABLE GLITTER WE WERE SUBJECTED TO WATCH FOR SO MANY YEARS -where husbands , wives and faces changed faster than changing of clothes and where values were thrown to the winds . Hats off! to the entire team who has acted in this serial – it shows the painstaking efforts of the director, producer and their entire troupe . I specially love Gahna – a darling child but that does not mean that the others are anywhere less . Keep going on !!!!!!!
this is the first time when indian telivision is showind i mirror of India .the small girl anandis action is so realistic that whenever she is on screen audiences stay glued to telivision.

the serial is really doing good..
after a long time a serious issue has been shown… all the characters are very realistic,, even from settings to sounds,, dialgs to costume, till now everybody can relate themself with the characters…. pls carry on like that… all the best. !!
