MS Dhoni’s boys defeated Srilanka at home for the 2nd time in this one-day series in as many matches. Srilanka were all bowled out for 241 runs in the 49th over.

Fine bowling by Ishant Sharma and the rest of the Indian bowlers ensured that India are well on their way to a probable series win. Ishant Sharma plucked 4 Sri lankan wickets giving away 57 runs in his 10 overs.

India survived a scare by Srilankan middle order batsmen Kandamby who was not out at 93, however kandamby’s resistance at the crease couldn’t be matched by the other lankan batsmen who succumbed to the Indian seamers.

India displayed an all-round performance with batting, bowling and fielding, infact last 3 wickets of the Sri Lankans were all run-outs. India struck early when Zaheer Khan plucked Dilshan for 18 runs, Ishant Sharma then struck a real blow when he got veteran Jayasuriya out ,caught by Ojha. With the exception of Kandamby and Jaywardene, none of the other lankan batsmen stood a real chance against the Indian bowling.

This is India’s 7th consecutive ODI win. A 5-0 win in this series could see India in the top 3 ODI ranked team in the world
