As expected our team kept to your expectation and did not perform well in any of the events so far at the Beijing Olympic Games. However, Sania Nehwal showed some hope by entering into pre-quarter final of the badminton event. She will have tough draw ahead so lets not too much, but our best wishes for Sania.
Earlier, Indian judoka Tombi Khumujam Devi bowed out in less than 3 minutes by Ana Hormigo of Portugal in the Women Judo Event. Shooters Anjali Bhagwat and Avneet Sidhu showed very poor show even though they started well only to finish at 29th and 39th spot respectively. Later, medal hopes from Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Mansher Singh – ace shooters, were also dashed when they failed to qualify. India’s sailing duo Devender Kumar Khandwal and Manjeet Singh finished fifth and last in the second heat of men’s lightweight double sculls in rowing.
Well, the only chance we can have now is with Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. Hope they leave their ego behind and work for the glory of India.
By the way, thought should be good to write here: Team India (cricket) is on the verge of Test Defeat. So all around good show by the Indian Team.
