Prajakta Shukre failed to make it to the gala rounds of  Indian Idol 5. Speculation was rife that the Indian Idol winner Abhijeet Sawant too may be discarded. However, so far the singer will remain committed to the show. This was revealed at the show’s press conference.

The media has criticized the presence of reality shows discards in Indian Idol 5. To be fair to these contestants, they deserve a second chance.

Indian Idol 5 – 10th May 2010 – Deepika and Jiah were on the Indian Idol 5 stage to announce the 16th Contestants and promote their film Housefull.

Everyone commits faux pas. Even the most celebrated individuals are prone to committing bloopers. Singer-composer Anu Malik had one such embarrassing moment at the press conference of Indian Idol on Thursday.

Music director duo Salim-Sulaiman, are known for scoring music for some hits like Kurbaan, Chak De! India, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Anu Malik proudly claimed that this year Indian Idol will lay emphasis on the ‘V factor’. Indian Idol’s resident judge acknowledged that the show faced such criticism in the past, but this year they’ve managed to unearth 17 singers who’ve made it to the competition purely on the merit of their voice.
