Social activist Anna Hazare said to the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi about his movement for a new tough law against corruption.

The government on Friday rejected anti-corruption protesters’ demand for a notification on the composition of re-drafting panel members for the Lokpal Bill. Regarding the second demand of making a civil society member the chairman of the redrafting panel, the government said that in such a situation no minister will be part of the panel and only government official or a bureaucrat can be a member of such panel.

Reacting to the government’s stand, Anna Hazare announced country-wide Jail Bharo agiation on April 12.

Meanwhile, Anna Hazare, whose fast entered the fourth day on Friday, has said that he will not become the chairman of the proposed draft committee for the Lokpal Bill.

The movement is also garnering support on social networking sites and has even shaken the corporate sector. Executives from various multi-national companies (MNCs) located in Gurgaon have visited Jantar Mantar, where Hazare is sitting on an indefinite hunger strike. Some even volunteered to keep a fast along with him over the weekend.

Indians in Los Angeles are organizing a day-long fast Saturday in support of Indian social activist Anna Hazare’s fast against corruption in India.

Bollywood star Anupam Kher, who is supporting Anna Hazare’s fast on Lokpal Bill, has appealed to master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to support the movement against corruption.
