obs-review-slumdog-millio-002The movie with a difference “Slumdog Millionaire / Slumdog Crorepati” that recently received 5 Golden Globe awards held a grand press conference at JW Marriott, Mumbai on Tuesday, 20th Jan, 2009. Click here to view the movie stills.

The Music director of the movie A.R. Rehman was not to be seen at the event. We guess he is a little upset with the recent case that has got registered against him and the actor Anil Kapoor and all other Indian actors of that movie. Petitioner Tapeshwar Vishwakarma, general secretary of the Jhuggi Jhonpdi Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti has charged of abusing slum dwellersin the name of entertainment just to earn money and fame.  He said “He hardly expected anything positive from a British filmmaker as their ancestors described us as dogs.”

The same group would be cheering when a politian comes to their area with great promises but never fulfills them, but they would criticise the director of the movie Danny Boyle, who has brought one of the most biggest drawback of India onto the world front. We guess its high time we act sensibly and take the movie’s motto from a brighter side and not get into such cheap publicity. Its high time we stand back and eradicate the word “Slum” from India forever…
