Bollywood star Bipasha Basu was the stellar attraction of the city’s biggest New Year eve show at the Sahara Star hotel and she is being paid Rs 2 crore fee for her performance.

The suburban hotel, which boasts of the largest dome in the world of its kind, has not only roped in Ms Basu, but a host of other artists including comedian Sudesh Bhosle, Anjana Sukhani, Indipop duo Preety-Pinky, a European dance troupe and DJ Amaan to welcome the new year. ”At our level, we spend in context of the year and not just the night. The benefits and returns we get are both tangible and intangible, but its worth the investment.Whatever the other hotels are doing, I believe we will stand out,” said Kumar.
The hotel is expecting at least 2,500 guests for the evening.The hotel has also put in place a multiple level security ring around the premises, which would be activated 48 hours before the D-Day.”Our hotel is the first to have four levels of security. From men, material,technology and animals. We’ll have everything from frisking machines to dog squads”, said Kumar.
