Their is a buzz on internet that Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar starrer the movie “Joker” is one of the shortest mainstream films to come out from Bollywood. And thankfully so, because, even the one hour forty five minutes, it is very difficult to deal with.
Saibal Chatterjee writes “Joker is a crude joke of a film that will leave you in tears unless you have a stomach strong enough to digest such unmitigated junk.”
He further adds, Occasionally, trash does have its uses in the domain of entertainment. But when it decomposes and turns into putrid garbage, it stinks. Yes, Joker is a load of rubbish that belongs in the dump yard.
The movie is all about a village named Paglapur which, lacks basic facilities like water and electricity. When nobody is ready to solve the problem, Akshay, who played the character Agastya in the movie creates a hoax by involving aliens in order to attract attention to the village`s problems.
Talking about the star cast Bollywood action hero Akshay does a good job but nothing extraordinary as Agastya and the desi girl Sonakshi mostly clings on to Akki’s arm as his girlfriend Diva. Shreyas Talpade is very good as the brother and manages to convey all his emotions with just a handful of gibberish words that he has to mouth throughout the movie.
