“Chakravyuh”: Average action flick

Cast: Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Esha Gupta, Anjali Patil, Om Puri

Director: Prakash Jha

Ratings: *** (3 out of 5)

Their is a latest buzz on internet that the movie “Chakravyuh”, is the first feature length on the topic, which in that sense makes it one of the most important films to come out of India in recent times.

The movie inspired by many real life incidents, yet they don’t hold together very well. For the most part of the movie you only see the vilification of the Naxalites.

The movie is essentially the story of two close friends, Adil played by Arjun Rampal and Kabir played by Abhay Deol, since college and police training (made known in a lackluster, sepia-toned flashback).

The story only picks up after the interval when Kabir and Adil’s conversation changes to “teri” and “hamari”, but by that time you’ve already lost your patience – As per the reports.

On the whole, the movie is a fine example of filmmaking with conviction and really is story you must experience.
