“Bhoot Returns”: Average Movie

Director: Ram Gopal Varma

Cast: Manisha Koirala, JD Chakravarthy, Madhu Shalini, Alayana Sharma

Rating: * (1 out of 5)

“Bhoot Returns” is a mash up of Ram Gopal Verma’s earlier horror movies.

The story starts off with a voice-over narration with ludicrous dialogue that says, “People love to move into new houses and some houses wait for new people to move in”.

The move has every element that a 90s or even early 2000s horror film demanded – a peculiar bungalow, narrow wooden staircase, creaking doors, unexplained voices, movement of furniture, a possessed doll, a swing in the garden – but it fails to bring any novelty to the genre of horror films.

The first half moves a little slow, post-interval, the movie is running to get to the conclusion.

Talking about the star cast Manisha Koirala disappoints in some scenes especially towards the end where the entire family is trying to protect each other from the attacks and this is also a come back movie of Bollywood actress Manisha.

On the whole the movie is missing the scare factor – As per the reports.
