Update: Two Oscars for A R Rahman – Oscar for Best Original Score and second for Best Original Song. A R Rahman has become the first Indian composer to scoop two Oscars for his music in Slumdog Millionaire.

In all, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has won eight awards including Best Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Sound Mixing, Film Editing and Original Score.

“I have nothing but my mother and she is there with me. I thank her for making me coming all this way with her blessings,” said a proud Rahman.

“This is just not a sound award, but a history being handed over”, said Indian receiver Pookutty.
