frozen_ice_text_11The recent parallel cinema which received international acclaim is “Frozen”. The movie has won 18 international awards. The story is all about a family: father (Danny Denzongpa), daughter (Gauri) and the younger brother (Angchuk) who stay in a remote place in Ladakh and army camp is setup 100 meters away from there place, so the difficulties and the problems that the family faces after the army camp is setup and everything is shown through the eyes of the girl (Gauri).

Danny places the subtle role of the father and his performance in the movie is very much appreciated. Gauri plays the character of Lasya who is around 18 year old girl and who is actually very bubbly and rebellious sort of a character. Finally Angchuk plays the role of the innocent brother. Gauri was first seen in a music video called “chana ve ghar… ” by Kunal Ganjawala. As the producer of this music video and this movie is the same, Shivajee Chandrabhushan she bagged the vital role in the movie. Gauri for her debut performance in “Frozen” has been nominated for best actress at Russia and Greece festival. Will she be the next Freida Pinto? Let’s See.
