Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray died on Saturday 17th November, 2012 afternoon at his residence, he was 86.

He was born on January 23, 1926. Thackeray started his career as a political cartoonist.

Bal Thackeray was cremated on Sunday at Shivaji Park, where he launched the Shiv Sena 46 years ago at a massive rally on Dussehra.
