This is probably old news now, but we at zorsebol deemed fit to give our opinion on the bitter rivalry between Shahrukh khan and Salman Khan. Its not uncommon in Bollywood to see big stars slug it out, exchange heated arguments, develop cold relationships and use the media to vent their frustration in public (remember Vivek-Oberoi – Salman Khan spat over Aishwarya Rai).

Salman Khan tryst with controversy is known to all and sundry, unfortunately a star of his calibre has been embroiled in various incidents that to some extent describe the personality of the star – a rebel without a cause. With success comes ego and Shahrukh Khan oozes with ego, and I should say a well-deserved ego, given the fact that he achieved it all without a godfather in Bollywood. The friction between Shahrukh and Salman dates back to 2003 during the filming of Chalte Chalte which originally starred Aishwarya Rai; The duo got into a fight when Salman disrupted the shootings of Chalte Chalte to meet Aishwarya Rai (his girlfriend during those days), this resulted in Shahrukh replacing Aishwarya with Rani Mukherjee.

The recent spat between the two originated when Salman threw a star studded birthday bash for girlfriend Katrina Kaif. This bash was attended by industry stalwarts which included Aamir Khan , Kareena Kapoor , Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar.


Incidentally it all started when Salman (already couple of drinks down) picked on Shahrukh Khan for rejecting requests to make a guest appearance in Main aur Mrs Khanna, a film produced by Salman and Sohail Khan; Salman as reports suggest is yaroon-ka-yaar and wanted Shahrukh to return his favour since Salman had made a special appearance in ‘Om Shanti Om’ and had also appeared on KBC with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
Salman called Shahrukh a selfish person and started hurling satirical abuses; this didn’t go down well with king Khan who started returning back in the same tone. The argument took a bitter turn with both the stars commenting on each other’s telly shows, Salman took a dig at Shahrukh’s ‘Pannchvi Pass’ saying that it was a flop while Shahrukh said that ‘Dus ka Dum’ was a loser, the argument could have turned physical if Gauri Khan didn’t intervene, she asked Shahrukh to leave the party immediately.

Shahrukh is known for getting into war-of-words with other bollywood stars, for instance, the cold war with Amitabh Bachchan and more recently with Aamir Khan. Shahrukh doesn’t mince words about his rival stars (remember the filmfare awards which he hosted with Saif Ali Khan) but he doesn’t like someone giving him a dose of his own medicine, be sporty Shahrukh mia !!!

The ugly fight between two leading bollywood male stars confirms the fact that ‘Bollywood mein jaisa dikhta hai waisa hai nahin’.

Is Shahrukh to be blamed for the cold war between him and Salman ?
