Television Saas-Bahu Virus had infected upon our Bollywood Cinema too. This was revealed that Kareena Kapoor’s character in ‘GOLMAAL RETURNS’ is called Ekta, and not surprisingly, she plays a die hard fan of saas-bahu serials!

To pay tribute to Princess of Soap era Ekta Kappor, Bebo has decided to hold a special screening for the television queen next week once the prints are out.  As per details pouring in, it is said that “Kareena’s character is called Ekta in the film. And to bring the character to life, Kareena had even met Ekta to take tips from her. She has been watching many daily soap sagas to get into the character.

Kareena said, “Yes, I am planning to show the film to Ekta. I am just waiting for the prints, which should be ready by next week. My character in the film is a tribute to Ekta. We’ve been friends for years and I just have to show her the film before anyone else.”

GOLMAAL RETURNS is out in cinemas on Wednesday 29th October. It is an Indian Films – Studio 18 worldwide release.

A source close to Kareena revealed, “It was interesting for Kareena to play a character inspired by Ekta’s serials. Kareena truly feels that her role is a tribute to Ekta, and hence, the special screening which will be held next week.”

“Bebo plays a housewife who is heavily inspired by the saas-bahu serials. She is able to draw a parallel between her husband’s (Ajay Devgan) infidelity with specific instances taken directly from the TV serials. It’s hilarious!” confirms Tusshar Kapoor.

And guess what Ektaa’s take on that – “That’s flattering! Long live the saas-es and bahus!” says Ekta!
The screening will also be attended by her sister Karisma Kapoor and beau Saif Ali Khan, among others.

Ekta is being reported to be keen to have the director of ‘Golmaal Returns’, Rohit Shetty, direct the much-awaited sequel of her film ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’.

The much awaited comedy flick ‘Golmaal Returns’ will hit the cinema screens all over this Diwali.
Let’s see does Bebo have done full justice to her role & will able to leave a mark on Wide Screen. We have to wait & watch till the film hits on this Diwali.
