If you are expecting Ghajini to be a classic like Taare Zameen Par or Rang De Basanti, then you may give Ghajini a pass. This movie is all about Aamir Khan, his versatile skills, his overpowering personality and his persona elevates an otherwise mediocre story-line to the next level.

Ghajini’s story line is hackneyed. It plays safe and treads the same old bollywood theme of love and revenge. Remake of the Tamil movie with the same name, Ghajini tells the story of a disturbed and violent man’s search to find his girlfriend’s killer.

Business magnet, Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan) suffers from amnesia, he’s forgetful with a memory span that lasts about 15 minutes. His only way to remember his past is through a series of reminders which he tattoos on his body and a bunch of photographs spread around the house.
Ghajini (Pradeep Singh Rawat) is the villain of the movie who allegedly kills Sanjay’s girlfriend, played by the beautiful Asin. Sanjay is helped by a medical student (Jiah Khan) in his quest to find the murderer.

The movie flip-flops between past and present and that is what keeps the movie alive, the violence in the movie is gory and sometimes hard to digest, the music of the movie is common by AR Rahman’s standard; but what stands between an average movie and a commercial hit is the star of the movie i.e. Aamir Khan.

Ghajini, the movie starts and ends with Aamir Khan, he completely dominates the movie from start, switching characters and emotions as he forgets things. Aamir demonstrates his versatility with Ghajini, an actor par excellence. It’s hard to imagine that it’s the same actor who played a thoughtful teacher in his previous movie Taare Zameen Par.
