Dev D is a modern take on Sarat Chandra’s legendary novel Devdaas. Directed by Anurag Kashyap who made ‘No Smoking’ with John Abraham, Dev D is a rather contrived take on Devdaas. This is what one of the website have to say about the movie “Dev D has Dev into drugs and vodka. Paro sends her nude pic to Dev via email and later, wants Dev to have sex with her in the fields. Chanda, a hooker, indulges in phone sex mainly. Clearly, Kashyap’s Dev, Paro and Chanda are audacious and rebellious.“.
