Music maestro A R Rahman is one of the most successful Indian musicians today. Ever since he started his career with Mani Ratnam’s Roja in early 90s, Rahman took the world by storm with his compositions.

Rahman who is often referred to as the Mozart of music celebrates his 43rd birthday today. He was born as A S Dileep Kumar in Chennai. His family was involved in renting out musical instruments. Rahman got an exposure to music at a very tender age.

His music in films like ‘Bombay’, ‘Taal’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’ have given us many chartbusters. Last year (2008) was a particularly great year for all ‘Rahmaniacs‘ as the music maestro gave us super soundtracks like ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Yuvvraaj’ and ‘Ghajini’.
