“Barfi” is an upcoming Hindi romantic, murder mystery film being directed by Anurag Basu, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor reportedly plays the role of a deaf person. Priyanka Chopra will play the role of a mentally challenged girl, for which she will attend a mental asylum to get into the skin of her role.

While Tollywood actress, Ileana D’Cruz will play the role of the narrator. In November 2010, the title of the film has been changed as Barfi. It was earlier known as Khamoshi and Silence respectively. Earlier, Katrina Kaif and Asin were being considered for roles in the film. The film began shooting on March 11, 2011. The film’s release date has been pushed to May of 2012.

Synopsis
His parents named him Murphy, but everyone calls him Barfi! Always ready with a prank up his sleeve, he’s quite the charmer, especially with the ladies!
