After ‘Mumbai meri jaan’, ‘A Wednesday’ is the second movie in quick succession to target the sensitive and burning subject of terrorism and militancy, it’s another movie from distributors ‘UTV motion pictures’ sans spectacular star cast.
Wednesday’s plot is based in Mumbai, India’s financial capital and a city that literally never sleeps. The story is supposedly fast paced as it revolves around events that occur on a certain ‘Wednesday’ in the city. Prakash Rathod (played by Anupam Kher), commissioner of Mumbai receives an anonymous call demanding the release of four dangerous militants else bombs across the city will be set-off. Prakash has to take the tough decision between succumbing to the caller’s (Naseeruddin Shah) demand or trace the caller and book him to justice. The story revolves around how Prakash and his lieutenant Arif Khan (Jimmy Shergill) and Jai Pratap Singh (Aamir Bashir) take up the crusade against the caller. Watch a quick trailer below

We are seeing more and more of such realistic movies targeted at multiplex audience who seem to be getting smarter and demanding quality stuff. Its good for both the industry and cine-goers that film- making is finally maturing.
