Bollywood has always reigned public’s heart from the beginning. During our grandfather’s days, when only DD channel was available, people used to flock for big screened theaters, loved & cherished each cinema on the big screen.
Then came the genre of private channels on television. Ekta came out with a new trend of saas-bahu serials and the women flock got stick to television like crazy. Bollywood still didn’t loose its lustre but they were a bit effected by the number of viewers increasing to watch television.
Until recently, the saga of realty shows reigned the television industry and the public were all thumbs up for it as it gave them a chance come before the limelight and an indirect way to get into Bollywood as well.
But the sudden dispute between the television workers & producers has resulted a sudden gain in Bollywood cinema. People are away from the idiot box and are on the cinema halls. Most of them feel its good to watch a movie than to watch the repeated telecast of a serial.
Soon after the dispute started, the movies that were currently running like “Golmaal Returns“, “Fashion“, & “Quantum of Solace” did some good work. Though critics didn’t approve Golmaal Returns to be a hilarious movie, people went to see it left with no other option.
The big forthcoming movie “Dostana” will have a huge positive effect due to this dispute. People are already eagerly waiting for this movie, but this spat has added some more expectation on this movie’s release. The movie is out in theaters on November 14th and is sure to go packed houses for atleast 2 – 3 weeks consecutively.
Well, I guess its high time the telly guys do something about their disputes and not to keep public sad for a long time as the saying goes “Out of sight is out of mind“. But Bollywood is enjoying its success at its peak presently…
