Two terrorists were killed and two Delhi police personnel were injured in a fierce encounter in Jamia Nagar of south Delhi. However, Mohan Chand Sharma, an inspector who led the team and a head constable were injured in the heavy exchange of fire. Sharma suffered four bullet shots and succumbed to the injury. Did the recent blast and criticism on the intelligent agencies fired up the policemen?

Mohan Chand Sharma is said to have joined Police Force in 1989 and within 6 years he got a big promotion. During his tenure, he is supposed to have killed more than 35 terrorists, 80 Gangsters and got more than 150 criminals and terrorists arrested. More than 150 times, he received prizes for brave act, six honour medals including two President medals. He is said to have killed Atif (Indian Mujahideen Chief), who mastered mined Delhi Blasts and also tthe blasts in Japiur and Hyderabad.

Mohan Chand Sharma is survived by his wife and two children.

Former Jt. Commissioner of Police Maxwell Pereira says that if given a chance and the due respect, Indian Policemen can show that they are no less and can ensure safety for each and every citizen of the country. They just need to ensure that police is not under direct control of Bureaucrats and the Politicians.

We agree Mr. Pereira and we salute Mohan Chand’s effort in leading a successful operation in killing two terrorists and getting one arrested. As per tip off from Gujarat Office, Delhi Police with Joint Operation with NSG stormed into the house at Jamia Nagar where 5 terrorists were holed up. Atiq, wanted in connection with the serial blasts in Ahmedabad and Delhi, and one of his associates were killed, while two managed to escape. One was held and has been taken for the interrogation.

We pay our homage to Mohan Chand Sharma for selfless brave act and possibly averted much more destructions in the capital.
