Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil has sent his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh owning moral responsibility for the Mumbai terror strikes. Congress sources have told that Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram or External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will replace Shivraj Patil who resigned on Sunday, as home minister.
Patil had offered to quit at the Congress Working Committee meeting on Saturday night, party sources said on Sunday. Patil told the meeting that as the Home minister he “takes the responsibility and whatever the CWC decides, I am ready to do,” they said.
Mr. ShivRaj Patil’s resignation is a merely Public Relations Stunt by the UPA Government, ahead of the Elections or does he truly meant it.
I think the resignation should be given after all the matters are solved as to why this thing happened & why the security was slack. Resigning at the very beginning is cowherdly. He did perform his duty and also he is lacking the guts to fight when the nation is in terror situation.. When 9/11 attacks, I dont remember any American minister resigned….Because they have the guts to fight against.. Where are the guts with the Indian officials.. By Simply giving resignations the matter doesn’t end here. Its absolute mockery of democracy and the people of India.
It is a wrong decision to resign now as our country is phasing big threat of terrorism. If it was in other country, no one will ask anybody to resign. But they will support them to find out real culprit and to take remedial steps to prevent such acts. Here in India every small and big thing is looking through political view and gain… America came together the day it was attacked. Our first priority is to ensure that by hook or by crook, any terrorist attack on Indian soil would be very very difficult to make from ‘that day’ onwards. Here Post 26/11 in India, the monkey’s already run away with the cake & again the cats were fighting over here. Its too late and not a wise decision to quit when strong actions need to be taken.
This is good that our Home Minister had submited his resignation as he takes full responsibility of this terror attack. But at the same time his further statement that he is ready to do whatever the CWC decides spills the beans as his intentions were not pious. He should have simply resigned from the post of Home minister and quitted on moral grounds. Why does he leaves to CWC on deciding his fate. I never thought of our Honourable Home Minsiter to be such a incompetent and impotent individual as he does not have the guts to stand & fight against Terror. He Should come with full assurances to protect the country from further brutal attacks & dare to praise such a daring act of military. Shivraj Patil should have resigned long time ago. He was clueless about his portfolio. At the age of 74 like his, sab chaltha hai attitude creeps in very easyly. He was pathetic during press conference too, again as I said before “a clueless old guy” good for nothing type of person.
It is the congress policies of appeasement and not individuals which are responsible for this situation. By changing the home minister a face gets changed and not the problem. Frankly the lack of form should be our own netas isn’t a big deal for any one. The more I watch the news unfold of the Mumbai massacre, the more I am convinced that our political system and our pathetic politicians are the bane of this country. The fact that the Congress sack Patil and held on to the hope that the clamour for his head would die down is symptomatic of the moral corruption of political parties. Let not anyone make the mistake of thinking that the BJP would have been even slightly better. We are burdened and weighed down by the existence of these self-serving power-hungry politicians. We are ‘pansies’ with no spine to take on these terrorists head on and squeeze their lifeblood away. Because we have the legacy of a short sighted, money-craving and power-blinded class of politicians who cannot think beyond vote banks.
It is time for compulsory military training for all citizens and the time for military rule in this country. Without self-respect and self-defence we are a civilization doomed to be at the recieving end of such dastardly acts of insanity as these terrorists have perpetrated. What will it take you, ‘honourable’ politicians of this country, to think beyond your petty selves and think of this country as a whole, as a power the world respects rather than a country for which everyone feels sorry? A nation of a billion plus with a spine of chalk? Shame on you for bringing this country to its knees because of your infighting, avarice and lack of moral will.
Episodes at Mumbai were quite shocking and unfortunate. The Police, NSG and the Hotel staff did a wonderful job. They deserve all praise. But the most unfortunate was the lack of unity among politicians even during such ocassions affecting the security of our great country. They should have jointly worked for repairing the loses.Very bad . By the next 24 hours all cover up work will be completed and then we will have a bunch of people giving statements and fool the nation.
Too many people are to be sent home and built a real intelligent team to fight terror. It is so pathetic that even after several warnings from several sources the govt waited to let this happen. It shows the inability & incompetency of our Political & Intelliegnce System sucks a big time.
We the citizens of India have more and more responsibility to rebuilt our own country. Still it is not too late. We stand together to rebuilt the new India. We are living in the nuclear world. If we are not prepare ourself to eradicate this kind of terror, So soon we have to bear nuclear attack too.
Let us all stand together even after this worst of the worst attacks.
We are saluting our war heros for ever, at the same time we mourn for the poor lives taken by the cowards. Its a peak time for our Weak Politicians to come up & deliver when it is required the most.
It is a shame but good riddance. And I agree, it’s time the citizens woke up. In fact we are about 60 years too late.
