Gabriella Demetriades visa through Shashi Tharoor?

Remember IPL2 beauty contest? Gabriella Demetriades in South Africa? Now Lalit Modi has tagged Shashi Tharoor in a new controversy. What is the Gabriella Demetriades – Sashi Tharoor story about? What is Lalit Modi saying about Gabriella Demetriades visa story? Here it is: after Gabriella Demetriades won the Miss Bollywood IPL title in South Africa, she had to obtain Indian visa for which her passport needed to have at least 6 months’ validity. But Gabriella’s passport was failing to comply with this rule and her passport was not left with 6 months validity when she applied for visa.
Lalit Modi had approached Mr. Sashi Tharoor with a request not to issue visa to Gabriella Demetriades. But as you know, embassy people or ministers can grant visas on their discretionary powers, Sashi Tharoor went on to issue visa to Miss Gabriella Demetriades despite her passport not having 6 months validity left at the time of application. Yes, minister can do that, but WHY did he do that?
Question now arises, how does Sashi Tharoor know Gabriella Demetriades? Why did he use his discretionary power to grant her visa? Now Sashi Tharoor has to explain to the nation about this too!
How did all this come up? Yesterday, a key aide of Tharoor had raised the issue of Lalit Modi’s cocaine possession case in the US, where Modi entered into a plea bargain and escaped a 2 yr jail term; later Modi returned to India citing health reasons. Clearly angry over this issue, Modi is now all set to fight the raging war against Sashi Tharoor in all possible ways.

Seems Lalit Modi played a private T20 tournament with some models @ SA during IPL-2. As part of the torny, he might have played a couple of games with Gabriella too. My speculation on Modi’s interest in stopping Gab’s visit to India is
- Modi might have thought that if Gab visits, his private T20 tourny might be exposed. Or,
- Modi might have played a couple of T20 games with some other contestant of IPL2010, promising her Ms IPL crown. Modi might have thought that Gab could be a threat for this, and wanted to ban her entry so that the ‘someone’ with who offered him the pitch to play his private T20 can get the Ms IPL. Or,
- Modi might have thought that Shashi might also start playing T20 match with Gab which he may not have preferred (by sadistic thoughts). He might have thought of seeking the soul ownership of Gab’s pitch, and didn;t want Sahshi to play on a pitch that he owns.
I welcome others thoughts also so that we refine the speculation.
