27 September 2008: Another blast in Delhi and this time in Mehrauli district where 3 people are reported to be killed and more than 17 are injured. As per eyewitness two people came on a bike and left behind a parcel and soon after they left the blast occurred. This is the second blast in less than 2 weeks and comes after serial blasts in Delhi on 13th September. The blast was said to be of low intensity.

BREAKING NEWS

  • 60 seconds timer bomb is said to be used. City was on high alert so No Bomb was planted.

  • Medium intensity blast – Locally made crude bomb used. Iron Pieces found with the bomb.
  • Faridabad Police received a phone call in the morning that there will be a Bomb Blast in Delhi Today. Faridabad Police informed Delhi Police about the same
  • Bikers left a packet, which was tiffin-box shaped. A child thinking the bikers have dropped the parcel, tried picking the box and when he saw smoke coming out, he left it immediately. It was then the blast happened and the child who picked the tiffin box died on the spot.

  • Blasts happened at 2:15 PM IST.

The blast has occurred at Flower Market near Andheria More in the Mehrauli district and very close to a Mosque. There were many people on the streets on the occasion of Ramzan.

There are many versions of bomb blast coming through as to what exactly happened. While Police says that they received Cylinder Blast reports, some adds that a Tiffin box was planted in a bike while other reports says 2 people have thrown newspaper-wrapped packets, which blasted immediately after they left.
