The two-month-long deadlock between film producers in Mumbai and the distributors who take the films to various multiplexes across the country finally ended on Thursday June 4, 2009. It took a twelve-hour marathon meet between the two warring factions of film fraternity to resolve the crisis across the table as they sat at Yashraj studios till late Thursday night.
Finally, film producer Mukesh Bhatt said,”The dispute over revenue sharing and distribution strategies was resolved with a final agreement from both the parties. The embargo which was on between the multiplexes and the prodeucers has finally come to an end.”The last known figures for revenue sharing for all films in single screens as well as multiplexes was 50, 42.5, 37.5 and 30 for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks respectively.
With the IPL Twenty 20 Cricket matches getting on to a kick start from today, the films will have some competition. Nevertheless, Its show time for the film freaks.
