An executive engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) was allegedly lynched and killed here by unidentified men, believed to be supporters of the local BSP MLA Shekhar Tiwari.
Tiwari is believed to have demanded a huge amount of money in connection with the birthday celebration of party leader Mayawati from the engineer, who is understood to have turned down the demand.
According to a report lodged with the police by Shashi Gupta, wife of deceased MK Gupta, two unidentified men entered their house in Gail Vihar in Dibiyapur forcibly on Tuesday night and started beating her husband badly. They locked Shashi in a bathroom and continued beating the engineer, injuring him seriously, the report said.
Later, local BSP MLA Shekhar Tiwari allegedly reached the spot and left the seriously injured engineer at a nearby police station, from where he was rushed to the hospital, the wife said, adding that he was declared dead at the hospital.
ADGP (Law and Order) Brij Lal said in Lucknow that police were looking for Tiwari who is absconding. The role of Tiwari is under the scanner, according to police.
A laudable deed by the great BSP Dictator who had been laundering Public wealth for personal whim & glory. It is natural that when they seek donation for a great cause like birthday celebration of a Chief Minister and anybody refuses, immediate flare up and impulsive actions like this come up.
This is an eye opener for the Mayawati Govt. who are already reeling under sharp criticism for making mockery of Law & order in the State.
UP has all the problems in the world which have aggravated under the present govt, like non availability of power, lavish spending on unwanted things like memorials ,law and order failure like in Noida and greater Noida and now collection of funds from public servants. It’s hightime that Mayawati should implement measures to prevent such lapses & solve the state’s problem with more integrity & honesty.
