Bangalore boy Naveen is charged with an intent to commit rape, indecent assault and attempted rape with a minor girl in Pennsylvania, US and has been serving Jail since October 2007. Basically this was a sting operation by a Reporter. This Reporter, posed as a girl, came in contact with Naveen via some online chat room. During the chat, the reporter revealed that she was 12 yr old, a minor; however Naveen continued his chat and insisted in a meeting.

Naveen, on the other hand has his own story. He says that he was incited and provoked by the girl, who kept insisting that she needs to meet Naveen. To end this, Naveen finally decided to meet her, only to find the cops waiting for him. He got arrested in October 2007 and all efforts to get him bailed out proved futile. His bail amount which was said to be USD 150,000 has now raised to USD 500,000.

Naveen is said to have gone to US through an IT Company and it seems little has been done by the company or even the Indian Government to help him. Interestingly, few months back a US national tried to assault a women in a hotel and he was allowed to leave the country without any prosecution and Naveen on other hand, is serving jail for the crime he was provoked and he even did not commit. That’s American Justice!

Let’s voice our opinion to help Naveen get put of this problem. I would like to make a personal appeal to the company he worked for and the Indian Government to help him to the best of their abilities to get Naveen out of this.
