The disastrous French campaign in the football World Cup in South Africa took an ugly turn during the second game against Mexico, when star striker Nicolas Anelka abused coach Raymond Domenech on being told to change his game. Anelka was substituted and subsequently sent home for refusing to apologise. There was more in store for next day, when Patrick Evra scuffled with trainer Robert Duverne, with TV cameras capturing every moment of it. France finished at the bottom of the group in what turned out to be their worst World Cup ever.
