A 2 minute film! A small-real life incident of sexual nature captured on mobile camera. Fun for many youngsters. Within minutes, the MMS is transferred to many mobile phones. Within hours, the MMS goes on internet and trading begins!  Soon, the couple in the MMS is identified and their life becomes hell, especially for the girl! And in few days, news flashes - A girl commits suicide after her Sex MMS was circulated.

No, this is not some imaginary story, but a true life story of a girl from a small city in India. MMS has become a new way of entertainment for many youngsters who do not see the curse it can play into someone’s life. Even the mobile phone companies might have not thought of its adverse effect when they introduced camera into mobile, making it so easy for someone to capture anything they want. MMS is sold or exchanged like hot cake and the more controversial the better price, the better demand. And if we Google MMS Sex‘, we will find thousands of sites claiming that they have the hot, the best MMS, even though many might be fake. Bollywood Actors are targeted as well when their look-alike are featured in the MMS making it more juicier for the sex-starved people to opt for those films.

We need to understand why there is so craze about the Sex MMS, which almost destroys the life of the girl in particular or the couple who is unknowingly shot of their private moments. The answer is Double Standards; the answer is the Narrow-Minded Society with regard to the subject SEX. With the advent of economic growth, western culture and internet age, there has been lots of a change in the Indian Society, however Sex is still considered as a TABOO! Until now you cannot discuss the subject SEX openly, till now you cannot read the Kamasutra magazine and till now you have to think how I should ask for condoms from the local vendor shop. A girl is looked down upon if she expresses her feeling for a boy; imagine what the society will do if she features in one of the MMS! She will be murdered everyday; she will be treated as if she has done the most horrible crime in the world even though she might not be aware of being shot. In most cases girls have to oblige their partner’s sexual desire and trust blindly. And within few days, when they part or even before that who knows, the captured film is circulated amongst the friend to show the boy’s “MANLY ACT”. And within hours, you have them selling like HOT ITEM IN THE MARKET! So love is sold as dirty sex in the streets.

Before the advent of MMS, pornography was prevalent in India and dubbed English movies were sold in video cassette. Those movies were performed by porn stars who knew what was going on. But Sex MMS had an edge as it dealt with real-human beings. The MMS first caught attention in India with the FAMOUS Delhi Public School students (just 16 years old) or DPS MMS Scandal, which shocked whole India. Perhaps many first came to knew what exactly MMS was and how dangerous this can go. And since then one after another Sex MMS scandals hit the headline. What about those thousands that do not make to the news, yet they are circulated in the market.

I was going pass Nehru Place, Delhi and a small kid would not be more than 10 years came and started buzzing “Saheb, mast MMS hain, total 120 MMS hain, DPS se le kar Pune wala..sirf 200 mein.. achcha sahab 100 de do.. (Sir, I have great MMS, total 120, from DPS to Pune City one, take for Rs.200… ok give me just Rs100)” I just stood and looked at him for couple of minutes. He angrily said “..kya lena hain toh bolo..” and understanding that I had no interest in taking he murmured something and went away. So you can see how worst the scene is. Kids below the age of 12 and even less are into this trade.

Apart from MMS, hidden cameras too have intruded in the personal lives and caused havoc. There are tons of websites that says “Honeymoon in Shimla video“, “Hidden camera Magic” and so on… Couples staying at hotels or guesthouses are unaware that there is a third eye that is capturing every moment of there private life. It’s not restricted to just hotels; there was a case in Pune (city near Mumbai), where the Paying Guest owner had a mini-camera installed in the bathroom so that he could film PG girls. Similar reports were reported from Cybercafe where couples were allowed to surf in closed cabins and what they did not realize was that a hidden camera, which was recording all actions. From cybercafes it went to big Shopping Malls, were see through mirrors were installed so that person sitting on the other side of the mirror can capture everything inside changing room. Where are we heading? Is this what we demand from science, technology and modern life?

While media have highlighted MMS Scandals and issues every now and then, but little has been done to stop or educate people. Why cant girls say no to such filming? Is love measured by the fact that you allow your boyfriends to film you? And even if your boyfriend is innocent, there are many ways the MMS can walk through his phone to others. Classic case was discovered in Singapore, where a girl’s phone, which had MMS of her and her boyfriend’s private act, was lost. Within days, that MMS was selling over the streets of Singapore, Malaysia and then internet! Precaution is needed at every stage, at every place! After checking into a hotel or a guest house make sure you look thoroughly to ensure there are no hidden cameras. And if you are unsure, switch off the lights! Changing Room Mirror can be tested by checking the mirror thoroughly. Again, if you are unsure, do not use or switch off the lights.

Parents need to educate their kids and should be open about SEX. Definitely parents can educate their kids better than others of the some group who themselves do not know about SEX.

Awareness and restrain are the only way we can stop these scandals. Further, why blame the people, who are into this business, shouldn’t we be blamed as well as we DEMAND IT! It’s shocking but true, you visit many forums and young visitors frantically ask for more MMS or sex-films. Its high time, we need to say NO to this Sultry Sex, its high time we think of some MORAL Values before seeing or accepting something like that. Today that has happened with someone else, tomorrow it can be you, your sister, your friends, your daughter! Sex MMS is worse than RAPE, the person associated with the MMS is raped 100, 1000 times, as many times as they are viewed. Think again! We cannot sit back and say Law will take its own course or the girl is to be blamed or boy is to be blamed. Refrain from using those websites that sell these stuffs, stop circulating bad MMS and report to the police at the nearest. People caught doing these illegal acts should be given severe punishments and strong message should be passed so that it creates fear amongst the defaulters.

Punch in your thoughts and spread amongst your friends. Remember, if we say NO to SEX MMS, the supply will automatically reduce!
