Riquelme’s pledge came after Paraguay continued their success at the World Cup. They beat Japan on penalties at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria to advance to the tournament’s quarterfinals, where they will face Spain on Saturday.

The 24-year-old is not the first person to promise to streak in the event of a World Cup win. Earlier, Argentina coach Diego Maradona had issued a similar guarantee.
