Nandita Das also shaved off her hair for the same project along with Shabana Azmi. But unfortunately this film could not be shot in India. Later, the director Deepa Mehta revived the film but had to unfortunately continue with other subsidiary star cast missing out on the original choice. Though Nandita was contacted when the project was revived, but this time she opted out. Although the project failed, the bold steps take by both these actors deserve mentioning.
