Actor Bradley Cooper’s rising career is considered as the reason behind his split with actress Renee Zellweger.

“If I had to pick any possible mistress, it would be Brad’s career. He worked really hard to get into leading man status,” the dailymail.co.uk quoted a friend of Cooper and Zellweger as saying.

Cooper’s career has witnessed a rise since he starred in a hit comedy ” The Hangover” and “Limitless” which topped the US box office and took in $19 million.

“She tried to make it work. But in the end it was too hard. Her friends feel bad it ended, but she’s okay,” one of Renee’s friends told U S magazine.

The couple had parted ways just days after 36-year-old Cooper paid tribute to Zellweger, 41, during a interview on biographical series “Inside The Actor’s Studio”.
