Katy Perry to Miss People's Choice AwardsSinger Katy Perry has pulled out of People’s Choice Awards function, which was to be her first public appearance since her split from Russell Brand.

It was announced last week that the singer would be among the guests at the prize giving ceremony in Hollywood which is scheduled for Jan 11. But now the 27-year-old has pulled out of her red carpet appearance, reports contactmusic.com.

In a post on her Twitter page, she wrote: “Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!”

Brand filed for divorce from the Perry Dec 30 last year.
