Singer Jessica Simpson has been invited by US First Lady Michelle Obama to sing for military families in Denver, Colorado, April 13.
And the singer says she’s thrilled to have been given the opportunity.
“(The First Lady) asked me to sing for the troops. That’s a huge honour for me. Just to be there and show my support and say thank you,” usmagazine.com quoted Simpson as saying.
Simpson’s performance is a part of is part of an initiative by Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of US Vice President Joe Biden, to honour US’s service members.
During the national two-day tour, the women will travel to Camp Lejeune (North Carolina), San Antonio (Texas), Denver (Colorado) and Columbus (Ohio) to “highlight the work of Americans who have answered the call to serve our military families to showcase ways all Americans can serve them, from teachers and business leaders, to neighbours and volunteers,” said a statement.
