Cameron Diaz is worried about the audience reaction on her role of a foul-mouthed junior high teacher in her upcoming film Bad Teacher.
Diaz described her character as a very bad gold-digger and it might offend the audience.
The film, which is set for a 2011 release, will have Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel along with Diaz.
Diaz said that she had a nice time playing her role and she cannot wait for the audiences to see her negative side in the film. Talking about her character, she said, it doesn’t give a dam about anyone but herself.
Diaz made her acting debut in the1994 film, The Mask co-starring Jim Carrey. It became one of the top ten highest grossing films of the year and she earned praise and nominations for several awards.
After doing some minor roles for three years, she returned to mainstream films in 1997 with the film My Best Friend’s Wedding. She was nominated for a ‘Golden Globe’ for her film There’s Something about Mary, which came next year.
Diaz received another Golden Globe nomination in 2003, for Martin Scorsese’s historical film Gangs of New York. The film was inspired by Herbert Asbury’s nonfiction book ‘The Gangs of New York’ and Diaz earned a whopping $20 million for her role. She became the third actress after Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon to earn so much of money. She will be next seen in the action/comedy Knight and Day along with Tom Cruise.
