Tamil actress Bhuvaneswari was arrested on Friday night (October 4) by the Chennai police on allegations of prostitution. She was arrested from her residence in Adyar after a tip-off from her neighbours.
The city’s anti-prostitution wing arrested her while she was entertaining a client. This is the second time that Bhuvaneswari is being arrested for prostitution. Seven years ago, in a similar case, she was arrested by the police for running a brothel in her house but was later acquitted. The actress, who is known for her bold and glamorous roles in Tamil and Telugu films as well as TV serials, initially denied the accusations and said that she was with her friends when she was arrested. But on further interrogation, she gave in and accepted the allegations.
She was entertaining a client of hers, who was a police officer in disguise, with two Mumbai-based models when she was arrested. The two models have been sent to a government house. The two were allegedly being forced into prostitution by the actress. The high-profile brothel run by the actress charged anywhere between Rs.10,000 to Rs.1,00,000 per client.
She also agreed to spill the beans regarding her elite clientele. However, she only agreed to do so if action is taken against them without the police bending down to any kind of pressure. Her clientele include politicians and top artistes and her coming out with the details of her trade might just cause public embarrassment to many of them.
