Rani_Mukherjee_1Having won the approval of the Chopra clan, dusky beauty Rani Mukerjee is finally feeling secure enough to sign movies outside the Yash Raj Films banner.

The stunner is stepping out of her comfort zone with a bold role in a film that has already stirred quite a hornet’s nest. Out to shock all, Rani will be seen playing a pivotal role in a film based on Jessica Lal.

Even as she is sending out feelers to filmmakers to cast her in their movies, sources inform us that the sassy babe has already bagged a prominent role in UTV Spotboy’s ‘No One Killed Jessica.’ And if reports are to be believed then the stunner will essay the role of a journalist who was instrumental in having this sensitive case re-opened.

Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the film also has Vidya Balan playing the role of Jessica’s sister Sabrina. Set to go on floors in February, the film is a fast-paced political thriller.

Confirming the news, Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV told a daily, “When you have actors like Rani and Vidya by your side, the joy of creating characters that can shake the audience and leave an impact is immense.’’
