ramya02_001Apparently, heroines Ramya and Pooja Gandhi had a huge argument, such that Pooja left the scene in tears. The current version of the story goes like this. Ramya and Pooja were part of rehearsals that included all top actors at a convention hall in the city. Pooja’s comment on some dance steps by Ramya ignited the fight. An argument ensued and before others could stop them, the comments became personal forcing the Mungaru Male star’s eyes to well up. Another version has Ramya making the first comment.

pooja_gandhi_6Both the actors deny any such squabble. “Some people are trying to create problems between us. This is a rumour created by such people. If anything had happened between us, would I need to be told about it by someone else?” Pooja said.

Ramya confirmed that Pooja was indeed crying during the rehearsals but not because of her. “Pooja had tears in her eyes when Ravichandran Sir shouted at her. He was tense after controlling hundreds of us and he happened to shout at her at one point. It was I who consoled her and she had her head on my lap as we watched the others practice. She is such a nice and sweet girl and I cannot even imagine having a spat with her,” Ramya said.

Professional rivalry

Ramya is the highest paid actress in Sandalwood and Pooja, the one with the most projects in the last two years. The rumoured spat between the two comes close on the heels of another long-time alleged fight between Ramya and Rakshita coming to an end with the latter retiring. While Ramya is a homegrown talent, Delhiite Pooja has made Bangalore her home and has even started dubbing in Kannada for her films.
