Before Anushka, two names were suggested for the lead role. First, Deepika Padukone and then Katrina Kaif but neither of them was signed. Finally, the meaty role went to Anushka who is riding high on the success of ‘Band Baaja Baraat’.

There is no confirmation from Ayan or Anushka Sharma about this development, and the producer of the film Karan only confirms that Ayan will finalize the actors once the script is ready.
