Anushka Shetty is a popular actress in the Tollywood and Kollywood industries. Shetty was born in Mangalore, and her mother tongue is Tulu, she is also very fluent in Telugu. She did her schooling and college in Bangalore.
She was also a Yoga Instructor and has trained under yoga guru Bharat Thakur. Her debut in Telugu was with Nagarjuna’s Super, and her debut film in Tamil was Rendu with R. Madhavan. She has been more successful in the Telugu Film Industry. Shetty made her debut in the telugu film “Super”, directed by Puri jagannath in 2005.
In the same year, she acted in another film “Mahanandi”.In 2006 Shetty made a guest appearance in the film Stalin. Shetty portrayed the character Neeraja Goswami opposite Ravi Teja in Vikramarkudu.
Astram, film, was a remake of the Hindi film Sarfarosh. In 2007 Lakshyam was released. In her film Arundhati, she has portrayed two central characters-Arundhati aliases Jejamma, separated by a time period of 3 generations.
Shetty acted in the tamil film called “Rendu” in the year 2006 playing the character of Jyothi. Shetty starred in two films in 2008 Chintakayala Ravi & Souryam and in 2009’s Arundhati & Billa. Currently Shetty is acting with Joseph Vijay in Vettaikkaran as well as with Mahesh Babu in Kaleja.
