Namitha reveals that it was Priyanka Chopra who made her decide to choose a filmy career and make it to the top! The time dates back to the qualifying round for Miss World that was held in the year 2000.

Priyanka Chopra and Namitha both were contesting for the title. Reminiscing about the 2000 Miss World moments Namitha says, “When I reached the qualifying round of Miss World, I was not selected by the jury just because I didn’t know English. Finally, Priyanka Chopra emerged the winner and became Miss World,” the actress says. Namitha adds: “I vowed on that day to master English and to make it big in filmdom. Now, I know the language very well and I am ruling the hearts of millions of my fans. This is all due to the challenge I took that day.”

Glowing in her new found slimmer look (Namitha has shed six kilos following advice from her friends and well-wishers) Namitha adds, “At present I am acting in a Telugu film opposite Balakrishna. I might also sign a Kannada movie.” The actress who already has a string fan following in Tollywood, Mollywood and Kollywood says, “I would like to make it big in Sandalwood too.” Reports are that Namitha is working hard on her body and look. We wonder if she is planning to hit Bollywood like her contemporaries Trisha and Priyamani. Only time will tell!
