Recently Larissa Ramos of Brazil won the Miss World 2009 title at the island resort of Boracay in central Philippines. Along with Miss Universe and Miss World contests, Miss Earth is one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions to participate in the world finals.
Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant that promotes environmental awareness. The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to address issues concerning to the environment. Carousel Productions organized and launched the first Miss Earth beauty pageant in 2001. It is intended to actively promote the preservation of the environment. This year it has crowned its ninth Miss Earth title holder Larissa Ramos. Here we bring to you a complete photo collection of all the Miss Earth title holders below:
Hil became the first Chilean woman to win this coveted title. As titleholder, she co-hosted UNEP event, Champions of the Earth that year in Singapore. Together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), she and Miss Earth Water 2006 Catherine Untalan took part in The Clean Air Campaign, as well as, the promotion of the use of alternative fuel and recycling fairs in conjunction with other environmental groups.
