Daisy Bopanna hails from Bangalore and moved to Mumbai to pursue a film career. She has featured in Kannada films and done English theatre before Garam Masala came her way. Garam Masala gave her lot of recognition in Bollywood. But her health problems has hinged back her success. First, it was the spine dislocation which happened during the promotion of Garam Masala. Some cysts had developed in her spine. After the surgery she had to take a break for a year. She couldn’t walk, bend or do anything. Hence, she had to let go off some good projects.
